Sestriere is reachable in 2 hours from Turin and offers some of the best skiing in
the Milky Way ski area. The Milky Way gives its skiers 400km of piste, which is one
of the largest in Europe. The area has enough variation to keep skiers and riders of
ranging abilities more than content. Snowboarders are well catered for, good off piste
and carving runs as well as parks and free riding areas. All this has aided the resort
to be the host of the 2006 winter Olympics! There are a number of other activities
including squash, heli-skiing, skidoos, tennis and ice-skating.
The après ski is busy with a few nightclubs, lots of pubs and some fine restaurants.
